How many PGA Shows have you attended in Orlando, and what’s the best thing about that event?
Around 26. I love seeing the training aids and attending educational events. Of course, it’s also fun to see my friends from now and the past.
In five words or less, what is your motto?
Do your best, have fun.
At what moment did you realize you wanted to pursue a career in golf?
After graduation from Rutgers University, I worked in the golf shop for PGA Professional Brendan Walsh and was so inspired by him.
What’s the strangest thing you’ve ever seen on a golf course?
The 9-inch dip in the middle of the ninth green at Yale University’s golf course.
What inspires you?
The U.S. Senior Women’s Open. Since the USGA created this event, I have been inspired to work on my game again. Playing helps me to coach my students better.
What has been your greatest career accomplishment?
I was the five-time (in a row) Player of the Year in the Metropolitan Section. Most recently, I made the cut in the last two U.S. Senior Women’s Opens. As you can see, I love to play as well as coach the game. I’ve also won the LPGA National Teacher of the Year award and three PGA Section Teacher of the Year awards.
What advice would you give someone who is considering a career in golf?
Surround yourself with people smarter than you to guide you. There are ups and downs, and you have to have a good support system to keep you reaching your goals.
